Key responsibilities

Cross-department cooperation:

• Working closely with the rendering team, development team & data science team on developing SKY ENGINE products and services
• Bringing CG know-how to achieve desired quality and efficiency
• Keeping an Art Director's eye on the developed products
• Collaborating with other department managers on dailies, workflow, and pipeline strategies, providing ongoing improvement to processes and methodology

Leading the CG team:

• Planning the needs of the CG department in the field of recruitment and supporting the Recruitment team in the process
• Designing and implementing the departmental pipeline and workflow solutions
• Departmental strategic planning for hardware/software
• Ensuring that the quality of work is of the highest standards
• Mentoring team members

Conducting CG projects:

• Planning the schedule and budget of projects in cooperation with the CG Producer
• Determining and advising technical solutions for projects
• Being in charge of workflow, organization, asset/scene continuity
• Supervising of artists' work: distribution of tasks, feedback on WIP's & quality control
• Evaluating efficiency of team’s work, prioritizing tasks and helping drive the team to meet schedule and budget objectives

Required Qualification:

• Minimum five (5) years of 3D animation or visual effects experience on medium and large scale projects
• Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and training teams of CG Artists
• Solid artistic skills & understanding of composition, light and color
• Experience and knowledge of all 3D areas (modeling, rigging, texturing, look development, character FX, FX, and lighting) and associated pipelines
• Expert knowledge of 3D art creation tools such as Maya or Blender
• Expert knowledge of the PBR workflow and texturing tools such as Substance Painter
• Experience working with Shotgrid or similar project management tools
• Knowledge of optimization processes and rendering techniques
• Ability to communicate creative and technical ideas clearly, verbally, and in written form (also in English)
• Proactive problem-solving skills
• Experience working with Houdini, Unreal would be a plus
• The ability to write code and assist in tool/pipeline R&D development would be a plus

• Experience using deep learning frameworks (such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, MXnet, etc.) to build machine learning/deep learning models and launch training experiments.
• Ability to communicate complex research ideas and solutions in both verbal and written form.
